CASE: FEMALE SNEAKER SEEKER
This course started in the fall of 2020. The task of the course was to design and make a logo as well as a Graphic Guide for an existing or a completely new imaginary company. I have been a so-called sneakerhead since I was a teenager. I have owned over twenty pairs of Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. I have noticed many times that it is difficult for women to buy really cool sneakers from stores in Finland. Stores offer a larger selection for men. There are always just a few sizes available for women and they are sold out quickly. One of my dreams has been to set up a sneaker store in Helsinki exclusively for women. Indeed, this course provided a great opportunity to make my dream come true.
The work was done as a team, but the invention of the business idea and the name of the business was originally my idea. We made a logo and Graphic Guide for an imaginary sneaker shop that would simultaneously serve as a cafe and also a place where it would be nice to come in and spend some time. You could admire street art on the walls and enjoy some sneaker shopping. I especially liked this course because I really got to be creative and think about the visual identity of the brand starting from the logo. I also gained more experience in using Illustrator and InDesign. We got a grade of 5 for the course.
